Taman Negara

Taman Negara National Park is home to most of Malaysia's wildlife species, from the common - macaques, wild boar and squirrels - to the rare - tigers, elephants and the critically endangered Sumatran Rhino. In between, visitors can hope to see gibbons, hornbills, tapirs, deer, pheasants, peacocks, porcupines and smaller cats along with a wide range of reptiles, amphibians and insects. In reality, spotting some of the larger mammal species is a game of chance as the jungle is thick and the animals limited in number. Fortunately, some of the wild animals that live near Park HQ have become semi-tame and appear frequently along the resort and restaurant grounds.
