Due to its remote location, food options are fairly limited to traditional cuisine and local adaptations of fast food and international dishes (mostly of Western variety). Proper restaurants with a conventional dining environment are found only at the major hotels, primarily Mutiara Resort and Han Rainforest. The rest are composed of hawker stalls scattered around town but sit mostly among floating platforms perched off the river banks at Kuala Tahan. These floating restaurants provide tasty local food with rice, noodles, burgers and specialty freshwater fish harvested from the waters. Do note that alcohol is available in very limited quantities at the village, reflecting its religious demographic.
